Organizational Structure of Toastmasters International

The Luton Speakers Club is a member of the Toastmasters International Organisation. 

Toastmasters International is an international nonprofit educational organisation.  Its headquarters in southern California, the Toastmasters International organization is governed by a Board of Directors representing various clubs and regions around the globe. 

Toastmasters' Jargon

Members are the participants of the local club. There are currently over 262,000 Toastmasters' members worldwide.  Average membership per club is 20 people

Areas a group of 4 to 6 clubs.  The mission of the area is to support clubs to ensure that they can fulfill their responsibilities to their members.

Divisions  There are 12 divisions within District 71.  The divisions are named A-L.  Luton Club is within Division 'H'.

Districts There are 85 districts worldwide.   We are part of District 71.  The district covers all England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republics of Ireland.  The mission of the district is to enhance the performance and extend the network of clubs, thereby offering greater numbers of people the opportunity to benefit from the Toastmasters educational program.
